Rules of pirates

It may seem strange but there were severe rules almost in all pirates' societies. For example, the pirate of 12th century had to sleep in the clothes always. And those who left the ship to sleep were punished a lot. And those who made their friends drink alcohol after their refuse were punished especially severely.
The English pirate Roberts prohibited gaming on board of his ship as well as women bringing to the board of the ship in 1719. And the pirate that brought the woman dressed like man on board of the ship could be punished by gibbet.
Fights between the members of the ship were prohibited severely. All duels took place on the shore in the presence of seconds. At eight o'clock all pirates had to go to sleep as the light was turned off on board of the Roberts's ship. And if someone wanted to have a drink of rum after the lights went down, he had to drink it at the deck in complete darkness.
The rules of Chinese pirates were the next. If the pirate went ashore without permission then his ears will be pierced in the presence of all crew. If he repeats the same attempt he will be punished by death. Another rule prohibited assignment of even the smallest things got with the help of robbery. Everything must be fixed and reported and every pirate gets 20% of the prey and the rest is taken to the storehouse that is the general treasury. The punishment for violation of this law is death.
There are notes according to which pirates were very friendly but this doesn't mean they had perfect relations and were honest and educated people. There were a lot of conflicts between pirates that usually finished with deaths.
